How can the dead walk, you ask? I say good question and here is the answer.It is found in Ephesians 2:1-3 which says: “And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, ² in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. ³ Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.” The Bible is talking about the condition of a person prior to their4 relationship with Jesus Christ and it is referring to the fact that we were spiritually dead towards the things of God. We were totally involved in the things of this world, oblivious to spiritual things and spiritual truth. This is why Jesus said to Nicodemus in John 3 that you must be born again. Being born again is when the spiritual side of us came to life when we recognized Christ as our Savior from the life we were living. The Bible then goes on to describe what happened and why it happened when we accepted Christ. In Ephesians 2:4-9 it says this: “⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, ⁵ even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), ⁶ and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, ⁷ so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; ⁹ not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Mercy is not getting what we deserve;  grace is getting what we don’t deserve. Salvation is the gift of God and it can’t be earned, we can’t work our way to heaven. Christ made the way, died for our sins, took the penalty of sin upon himself and when we by faith believed this, mercy, grace, and salvation became ours. The ground at the cross is level. All must come their for forgiveness.
