Around the world, there are those who believe in God and those that do not. Those that do not can be categorized as either atheists or agnostics. The word atheist is defined by the a meaning no and theist as God, hence, no God. And agnostic is defined by the a meaning no and gnostic as knowledge, hence, no knowledge. Believers are those who recognize and accept a God or a deity. Does the Bible address this issue? In fact, it does and very specifically. In Roman 1:19-20, the Apostle Paul writes this, “That which is know about God is evident within them, for God made it evident to them, for since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” The Word of God declares that God has programmed into every person the inherent knowledge of God’s attributes, power and nature. Because of this, people and culture around the world have worshiped something because of a need to worship someone or something. Some have sought and discovered God, others have worshiped things in nature like trees, rivers, sun, etc. Some have worshiped other beings or creatures, or things like money and greed. God have revealed Himself in nature and wants to reveal Himself to all. If you seek Him, he will give you that revelation. Psalm 19:1 says that the heavens declare the glory of God and the earth shows His handiwork. This is refereed to as general revelation in Romans 1:19-20. Why is this? The Bible says in vs 20, so that they are without excuse. No one will ever be able to say on judgement day before God that they didn’t know or no one told them, because God Himself has programmed it into us. When you ask Him to reveal Himself to you, He will either though a specific revelation or a testimony of another. Those who refuse to believe are described in Rom 1;25 as those who have exchanged the truth of God for a lie and have worshiped and served the creation instead of the Creator. God loves you and wants to be a part of your life, the choice is yours.
